"spread" size? Can we print A3 (larger than tabloid)?
because each drawer gets a spread, I suppose that the "left side" etc captions, could simply be on left side with other text, like a title. thereby leaving the photos mute.
see if the type could work lower on the page, and perhaps even to the right, closer to the gutter. I wonder if it pulls away -- and pulls attention away -- from the image, where it is, now. might be closer. just a thought.
wonder if there's some poetry that might work with this, Emily Dickinson, for example. Several poems with the word "drawer" or "drawers" in them Just a thought.
